These pencils are a perfect blend of that pigmented charcoaly / sootiness and that slight waxy feeling that you get from a colored pencil. It almost feels like a digital nib from a stylus.They are highly pigmented and it feels so good gliding across the page, more affordable than a lot of inferior brands, And these don't crumble to pieces when you sharpen them.The soft pencils are a perfect jet black, and the medium pencils are a gray that no matter how hard you press down it doesn't get too pigmented.Fantastic product. I don't know why they aren't more popular. Will recommend to my drawing students.
